Who and Where is this Bone Dragon?! - Guild Wars Forums

Hi, this image is from the back of the 1º gw cover, at least in here its this one. What i wanted to know is where is this dragon, someone say its Rotscale but he's not in the snow, he's in the grass or something like that, it could be the Bone Dragons in Fow but there is no snow in there.

It likely doesn't exist in the current build of the game. Quite possibly a screen shot from beta where they had all kinds of crazy mismatched stuff going on. I even saw a screen with charr in the Maguuma Jungle.

Maybe Rotscale was on tour or it's his holiday snaps in the southern shiverpeaks - I guess he'd have had to go there sometime to cap Feast of Corruption of [wiki]Maw the Mountain Heart[/wiki]?

You're correct in that Rotscale is indeed in the "grass or something like that"...he is in Majesty's Rest. I've never seen a bone dragon in the snow before.

Wow been a long time since i saw that baby. Anyhow...I do remeber back during beta for Chp 1 that over where the hydra first appear there was and i belive still is an area where there is desert like ruins on one side and snow on the other. There is a misison you take where you visit a grave near there. There is also a fountain or statue and some material crafters there. Been over 2 years since i been to the spot so not sure if anythign has changed there or not.

Anyhow, I do remmeber during beta, there were times when a bone dragon was seen over there as well as a devourer boss but during one of the last beta updates before Chp1 went live, the dragon was removed and the boss was relocated. Its possible that picture is of the removed dragon. I remember that when you killed that one and the one in the mission where you take the ceptor or orr to Viz...both bone dragons would lay down and get up , lay down and get up, and continue in that loop till you moved and they were off screen. If you ran back to either dragon the funky animation loop stopped.

I seem to remeber the update notes saying something bout the dragon wasnt supposed to be there and they removed the faulty coding.

Anyhow, its been over 2 years..so maybe Gaile would be a better person to ask b out this

That's the Ascalon Foothills, and no, there's no bone dragon there, just Hydras and stone elementals.

There are no bone dragons in the finished version of the Shiverpeaks. They seem to like warmer, wetter climate like outside ToA, Sanctum Cay, etc.

It cant be Ascalo Foothills, i've been there and there is not enough snow, the picture shows more snow, can u go to that place u saying he is(put yourself exactly where the dragon of the picture is) and take a photo plz.

In May of 2004 Anet hosted the E3 for Everyone event where not only people at the E3 event could play an alpha state (or very early beta) of Guild Wars and try it out, but they allowed everyone to download the client and try it out together online. I know cause I was one of these people.

The event had a limited content to it and was located around the area we now know as Ascalon, though during the event it was called the Town of Kyhlo.

Anyway.... As the event progressed, to give people an idea of new areas to come, they opened up new little mission areas for people to explore a small area of map that would resemble what we now know as the Shiverpeaks and another which was similar to a wooded/jungle area which I want to say was slimiar to the Maguuma Jungle.

The picture above is from the mission they added in the Shiverpeaks, where the ultimate goal was to kill that dragon.

I don't remember if the dragon had a name, or what it was called. Here is another picture from that mission..... yes i'm a pack rat and have lots of old junk which include hundreds of images of myself in that state and through out the beta. :P

oh i wish i still had my old screenies from the last day of beta and some of the crazy stuff we would see in beta. I coulda sworn that dragon was also in beta for a short time.

I think my fav memory from beta was was the first time i ever saw the dune lizard. It reminded me so much of the lizards from Star Wars Galaxies....I ended up getting one to replace my stalker that got lost during that glitch early on where some rangers lost their pets. I still have that lizard to this day
